Hotting up

Back in the land of the living!!!! Well it's all hotting up nicely at the end of the season.Some teams already know their fate, whether good or bad, but so many are still unsure of their survival, promotion, or if they will be taking part in the play-off's. Hopefully the lads at Torquay can win their last game, and if Crawley slip up promotion will be in the bag. I can only watch on like most now (Which I realise now is very tough!!) but fingers crossed they do it. Away from footy and things are just tickety-boo, I had a pretty bizarre weekend on Exmoor, which involved a lot of mud, a lot of rain, and a lot of pain!! More on that another time, for now it's hello and goodbye. LOVE TO ALL XX Ch

HOLY MACARONI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor, shocking, disgusting, disgraceful, rubbish, these are all quite usable words to describe my pathetic lack of blogs recently. I need to throw some quick catch up bullet points out at you.

As for my other clubs, WBA are close, Oxford are close, Grimsby are close,Brentford are close, Hull are progressing, and Hereford NEED points quick sharp.

Away from footy all is good, the shop is busy (PLEASE POP IN AND SAY HELLO IF YOUR IN SIDMOUTH), the family are as mad as ever, and I am SURVIVING.

NOT HAPPY WITH THE GOVERNMENT, NOT HAPPY WITH THE F.A,
HAPPY WITH THE WEATHER, HAPPY THAT IT IS NEARLY SUMMER.

GRIZZLY FIRST, QUE STARS NEXT, GETTING TO 14 STONE AND BENCH PRESSING 120k IN BETWEEN.

Finally, all my thoughts and prayers are with Jess Tubbs and her family.

DONE

So the Grizzly is done, and yes it was very, very tough. It started with a run on a shingle beach followed by a big hill, and then for the next nineteen miles it was hill, cliff, hill, bog, hill, water, hill, and finish. For me it was three hours and eighteen minutes (Without training I might add at this stage, which on reflection was at best MADNESS) The run definitely takes your mind and body to places that if your not careful can break you, but it was a brilliant day with a whole host of fantastic support all the way round, which I know all the runners were so thankful for. After a hell of a lot of water, gels, jelly babies, and will power it was over.
It was then a case of hugging my beautiful family and heading for the pub! Thank-you so much to everyone who donated, it is massively, massively appreciated.

FORGOT TO SAY !! I have decided to run the Grzzly, I have a week to train, it's a 20 mile run up and down huge mountain like hills, through mud and water, on stone beaches, real athletes do it, it's gruesome, I have been told not to, and my calf is hanging on by a thread!!! WISH ME LUCK

Friday feeling

Well England..F.C let us down again, no surprises there then, 'Arry' is not in as manager yet, and we have a major championships coming up. I like most patriotic Englishmen am feeling a bit deflated with the whole England set up, the players don't look happy, the managers don't look happy, and the fans are not happy. Smile please, you are playing for your country, you are probably on well over 50, 100, 150, or 200 grand and your Ferrari is waiting for you outside Wembley!!

Back in the real world and who thinks that 3 minutes of INTENSE exercise per week is as good as slogging your guts out on treadmills and roads all week long? Watch Horizon (iplayer) and you will find out!! - hands up those of us who can relate to the 3 minutes of intense exercise per week shout, sometimes a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Wales calling

Ok so I didn't quite get the predictions right but I was close !!!

Five Live debut went well (Ok again, Five Live Extra's coverage of Cardiff v Blackpool) Cardiff have one heck of a nice stadium and everything is set up for them to go into the Premiership, and after their last few years of heartache I really hope that they make it, but on the day Blackpool were excellent. To be more precise in the last twenty minutes Blackpool were excellent. If you ever want to see an example of a team with attacking intentions then watch Blackpool. Three players left up front most of the time, against a Cardiff team that pulled every single player back for corners, something had to give and in the end it did, three quick goals and it was good night Vienna.
Whilst I was outside the City stadium I had to send Chris Todd a quick photo of me outside Wales' theatre of dreams, after all he is a massive Swansea fan!!!!!! My pleasure Toddy.
As a footballer, and ex footballer, you do tend to lose touch with old team mates but the odd text or call here and there and it's as if you have never been away, so MASSIVE 'Big up' to all those lads out there who miss me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Forgot to say well done to the big ginger freak Chris Robertson who has moved to Preston. He was always asking me when he would get his move and I told him that once he had done his job at Torquay I would get him a move, and the time was right for him, so good luck to 'Robbo'. God knows how he is coping without his little mucker though, although rumour has it he tried to smuggle Danny to his new club in his mock Louis Vitton suitcase!!!!

Tough at the top

Holy macaroni !! so much has gone on, football matches obviously , nights out unusually, and survival definitely.
I would hazard a guess that most people now think that Man City have blown it, I am not sure that is the case but after so many years in the shadow of United, it would be great if they came through and took the title (Sorry for trying to be neutral here), but looking at the recent form book it is going to very tough to break the dominance of the main three or four clubs. I don't think Chelsea can do it, I'm not sure Arsenal can, and Liverpool and Tottenham are big maybe's, so that leaves just one club, and we all know who they are don't we.......

Closer to home and it's simple, three clubs need points for survival and the other need them for promotion. I can honestly see all of those scenarios happening, and wouldn't that be great, but hey what do I know!!

I did watch the second half of Torquay v Northampton last Saturday and in the half I saw Torquay were really, really good, I am a bit worried about my other old club though in Northampton, bodies needed, belief needed, points needed, fingers crossed.

At home and things are.....on lock down.

Balotelli? Love him or hate him? Well anybody who fills everyone's car up with petrol at the local garage is good enough for me! Yes, he may not be everyone's cup of tea but he is a young lad doing his stuff with what looks like some serious pent up anger in there. For me he can carry on with his bling in the warm up, with his love for spending money, and his penchant for getting sent off, because he is different and you get nowt in this world if you are the same....

So raw philosophy over, now it's time to talk about........BIG BROTHER!!! I know I am so,so,so sorry but in a moment of weakness after training this weak I got involved (Steady it's a family blog!) and watched some of Channel 5's BB. Firstly I reckon it's better than channel 4's effort (No reason and I didn't watch the last C4 BB but it just seems a better show) and secondly it's mental, they are in total meltdown in there, talk about career maker and career wrecker, it really is catering for both.
From the little I have watched here goes.............

Frankie and Romeo seems like decent lads, The Twins are in my book (No I don't mean 'in' the best book of last year, this year, and next year 'Where's Your Caravan' by Chris Hargreaves) and as any self respecting 'Essexite' would agree "A pair of mingers', and I will tell the 'Heff' the next time I'm in the states (to sort him out with his magic pills) that they are BAD news.
Nicola IS a WAG, simple as, Gareth is a six foot seven, tattooed beast, who loves being hugged, Michael has been in some BIG, BIG films and can be excused a little bit, although he is VERY Hollywood, and Denise just wants to have a good laugh. I have no idea because I don't know any of them (Well you know off record I do but I don't like to talk about it!) but for what it's worth I also think Natalie should have won, that Kirk needs a few minutes to have a chat with himself, Andrew is now in a very, very dark room, and the model (poor form but I cant remember her name) was a bit 'flicky'. Have I missed anyone ? Not sure but I have obviously watched far too much of it, so in true Mr H style I will grab the remote of Mrs H and........turn the volume up a little.
